Review by Sara Novelli
Usually for anything in Boston, I say "Excellent" Bill & Ted style.
But this year's word is PHENOMENAL!!!!!
The show started with a opening set from the super talented Anythyst Kiah, although I was shooting for the Moons to open this leg.
Then when the Who came on, I went into total fangirl mode, jumping up and down as only I know how. The set was amazing, with an orchestra. Pretty much the same as Fenway, with a few omissions & additions. And yes, there were some meaningful interactions between moi and Roger. A smile and a few "Hey Boo's" & "I love you's" (which I said, BTW).
At the VIP reception and a few minutes before the show, I managed to get every Who down in Whoville I knew to sign a birthday card for Pete, as his birthday was the day after the show (5/19). At the end I had a guy throw it up to the stage. Pete then held up the card, stating he wanted a proper present. So Roger led the crowd in singing "Happy birthday". Then I had the same guy throw up another Who-loving bear, "Beary Who Bear", a friend of Mr. Snuggles. Pete said "this is for you, Rog," and then threw him that direction. Alas, it missed and fell to the stage. Thankfully, a stage crew man threw him back. Beary now has the Platinum Touch.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PETE!!!!!! ANOTHER CARD PERSONALLY GIVEN!!!!!!
