Pete Townshend records new tracks in Nashville!

Pete Townshend made good use of his break from The Who tour last week, following the postponement of 3 shows after Roger Daltrey was told by his doctor to rest his voice for a few days before picking up again in Nashville. Pete booked some time in the Welcome to 1979 recording studio in Nashville, and spent a few days recording a couple of new tracks! Pete worked with engineer Chris Mara, and players that included Billy Livsey, Greg Morrow and Michael Rhodes.

Chris posted the following on the studios Facebook page: “Holy Moly! We had the best time tracking new songs with Pete Townshend (The Who) for the last few days!!! He's the nicest guy you'll ever meet, and absolutely loved the '79 experience!!!”

The studio website also posted the good news: “The legendary Pete Townshend was in tracking for several days; working on songs for his new album with Chris Mara engineering.”
