The Who played at private charity concert to benefit Teen Cancer America

To cap off their successful Moving On tour that ended at the Hollywood Bowl last Thursday night, The Who performed one final show in 2019 at a private fund raising concert to benefit Teen Cancer America on October 25. They played a 50 minute set with their full touring band.

This exclusive backyard festival took place at a residence in the posh Pacific Palisades neighborhood near Los Angeles. Also performing at the event were Foo Fighters, Kenny Loggins, and P!nk. Judd Apatow and Howie Mandel MC'd the show and served as auctioneers between sets.

Tickets for the event cost $5,000 each, and they raised nearly four million dollars for TCA from ticket sales and items sold at the auction. One of the auction items was the original artwork by Peter Blake of the soon to be released WHO album that was unveiled at the Pace Gallery when the Who performed there last month. Also, a guy named Ken paid $250,000 to play drums with The Who on Pinball Wizard, which must have been a dream come true for him!

How exciting for everyone who were fortunate enough to be able to see The Who perform in such an intimate setting!

Congratulations to Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey for their successful Moving On tour, and for raising so much money for TCA at this wonderful charity event!
